The Azad Masjid was established in 1996 by Abdullah Shamsid-Deen, his wife, and a few Muslim students and families in Wichita Falls, intending initially to secure an adequate place to pray together as a community. Little did this group of pioneers realize that they were actually laying the profound foundation for the largest and mostdiverse Muslim community in Wichita Falls. The changing landscape of religion in the United States of America requires new ways of understanding Muslim communities and fostering Muslim American identity. To this end, the Islamic Society of Wichita Falls facilitates educational opportunities, fosters productive partnerships, and organizes spiritual and social engagement in Muslim communities. Islamic Society of Wichita Falls strives to encourage a moderating influence on Muslim attitudes towards issues such as citizenship obligations, engage Muslim communities to grow their capacity to serve their religion and serve as a unifying voice for Muslims in Wichita Falls.The Azad Masjid is an Islamic community center that encourages Muslims to follow their religion and unite the Muslim community in Wichita Falls, TX!A

Established in 1996 as a non-profit organization, the Azad Masjid is a dynamic religious, charitable, cultural, social, and educational organization. With our unique programs and services, we seek to improve the religious beliefs of individuals in Wichita through the promotion of community service, dissemination of Islamic knowledge, and engagement in political activism. Most people come to our organization after visiting the mosque in Wichita Falls, TX. Moreover, we also inform people about the Islamic prayer times in Wichita Falls.

The Azad Masjid is a community organization with the vision of providing Islamic services to Muslims in Wichita Falls and broadening Muslim understanding in the broader American community. These services are essential in strengthening the Muslim community’s interfaith and socially cohesive landscape. Our goal at the Azad Masjid is to preserve Muslim identity and promote harmony, mutual understanding, and cooperation among American communities. The Azad Masjid aims to be the anchor of a growing Muslim community that is democratically governed, inclusive, and tolerance oriented, and interacts with neighbors in an ideal Islamic way. Our vision is to create a Muslim community that fosters future generations’ inclusion, vibrancy, education, and creativity.
Our goal as a community is to spread knowledge about the Creator and His creation through the Quranic teaching. The Azad Masjid offers weekend school in the Masjid for children. All the classes are conducted from 11:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Sundays.
Since its inception, the Azad Masjid has been striving to construct a holy place for Muslims to come and practice their religion. It had taken more than five years of struggle and hard work to compile Masjid paperwork and complete its construction.
We stand by to support our community in times of grief. Our sincere condolences go out to you and your family during this difficult time, and we strive to make the Janazah process as smooth as possible for you. Furthermore, we ensure that all the funeral rites are performed per Islamic Laws.
Throughout the world, centuries-old monarchy, colonialism, and oppressive rule have caused Muslims’ moral and spiritual degeneration. To free them from this degeneration, the Muslim Community must restructure its educational priorities in line with Islamic principles while still fulfilling the existing needs. To meet our spiritual and temporary obligations in modern times, we need to rebuild the structure of our educational program on such a foundation. Our education system must produce Muslim philosophers and experts in all fields of knowledge that will reconstruct society according to Islam’s tenets.
Our mission at the Azad Masjid is to offer a variety of courses in Quran, Hadith, Fiqh, Tajweed, and other subjects to educate our community and the coming generation. By establishing a model system based on Islamic knowledge and ethics, we aim to advance the actualization of Quranic guidance.
